Theatre Tapas – May 2026 Performances
Tempest Theatre’s Spring Intensive culminates in two evenings of live scene presentations. If you’ve never been to one, you’re in for a treat: engaging, high-energy performances by a talented group of actors working at a professional level. We call it “tapas” because each scene is a short snapshot from a published work.
You’ll experience a number of different pieces in one evening.
Over ten days, actors train intensively with Kate Twa, Denise Kenney, and Kendra Anderson, working through exercises that expand expressive range. This is where they move outside of the text and connect with you: the live audience.
The format makes for a distinctive night out. Scenes are varied and compact, exploring a range of material, characters, and tones over the course of the evening.
Tempest’s lounge is open before the show and at intermission, with wine from award-winning local wineries available by the glass. Between the work on stage and the conversation it tends to generate, these evenings have become some of the best nights on our calendar.
Two performances only.
About the Show
This is an opportunity to share the work. Performing for a live audience is an essential part of the training, but also a special chance for audiences to experience what sets the Tempest stage apart. The actors in the Spring Intensive are working professionals, and presenting scenes under performance conditions tests and refines skills deepened in the course of the intensive. We open these evenings to the public because they make for really good theatre, and we’re glad to share them.
