It’s time for an Intensive. Focused, demanding, immersive work that invites actors to dig deeper and discover what is possible.

Drawing on techniques Kate has developed through years of collaboration with actors, the training moves through a wide range of exercises designed to sharpen presence, deepen connection, and expand expressive range.

On the first day of the intensive, actors train with guest instructor Denise Kenney. Denise is a powerhouse leader whose bold presence and uncompromising clarity set the tone for rigorous and expansive work.

Throughout the intensive, voice and movement training with Kendra Anderson awakens the body, frees the voice, and builds the stamina and presence required for bold, connected performance. Kendra’s extensive training and embodied understanding of the actor’s instrument guide performers toward greater freedom and strength.

Before stepping onto Tempest’s boards, actors receive scenes with ample time to read, research, and rehearse before the intensive begins. Arriving with work already in motion allows the room to move quickly beyond preparation and into discovery, offering deeper insight into each actor’s process.

There will be two evenings of presentations.
