Charles Ross – One Man Pride and Prejudice

Tempest Theatre, in collaboration with Discover Naramata, is thrilled to welcome back Charles Ross for a limited run of his acclaimed “One Man Pride and Prejudice”, October 2 to 4, to kick off the Naramata Gathers Festival.

Charles is best known as the creator and performer of “One Man Star Wars” and “One Man Lord of the Rings”, solo shows that strip beloved epics down to their essentials: no costumes, no sets, no props, just Charles playing every character himself. What started as a bar game in Winnipeg, trading movie lines while tossing a frisbee, grew into a career that took him from the Fringe circuit to a six-month Off-Broadway run at the Lambs Theatre on 42nd Street, an invitation from Lucasfilm itself, and appearances on Conan O’Brien, Craig Ferguson, Good Morning America, and BBC One.

He brought One Man Lord of the Rings to Penticton audiences during Ignite the Arts and now returns with a show close to his heart: an homage to the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice, with Charles playing every role, Darcy included, solo, on stage, “full of dancing and singing and loving and crying.”

Audiences can catch his performances from October 2 to 4 at Tempest Theatre.

Naramata Gathers – A Celebration of Wine, Food, Harvest & the Arts, a ten-day celebration taking place October 2-12, 2026, throughout Naramata Village and along the Naramata Bench.

About the Show

It is a truth universally acknowledged that an actor in possession of a woman’s story must be in want of a wife–to help him adapt it. Charlie and visual artist, Lisa Hebden, tackle the greatest romantic comedy…like, ever. The intrigue, dancing, proposals (did we mention the lace?), are given the one man once-over. We hope to see you rolling in the aisles (not Jane Austen rolling in her grave).

Opening: Gordon White

Opening the night is Gordon White with The House Manager. Gordon spent 18 years as a featured clown with Cirque du Soleil, performing lead roles across four productions worldwide, and CBC has called him “a living cartoon.” This special performance brings him home to Penticton for this performance before Charles takes the stage.
