Thank you for your interest in Tempest. If you are new to our studio and wish to have the opportunity to participate in classes, workshops and future auditions for upcoming shows, we invite you to come and meet with Artistic Director Kate Twa or one of our instructors.
These 20 minutes are set aside for you. You’ll present a monologue on the Tempest stage and discuss your training and career aspirations with one of Tempest’s professionals.
This is an important first step and, no matter your skill level, this process should be fun and informative. You’ll have an opportunity to show your capabilities and work collaboratively with the instructor to determine your best path forward. We’ll take time to discuss our overall philosophies, how we approach the work, and answer any questions you might have.
If you would like to apply for admission into our programs, please do the following:
- Prepare a monologue from a play and make sure you read the whole play! *No internet monologues please. (If you have questions about this, please let us know and we’ll be happy to advise).
- Email email@example.com to request an interview time and date. Include your headshot and resume. If you do not have a professional headshot and resume, simply submit a few sentences about yourself along with any past experience and a current photo.
- Make sure to put your best foot forward: be off book for your interview so your performance can shine and the instructor can work with you.
- Take your time to prepare, challenge yourself and have fun!
Our mission at Tempest is simple: inspire and enlighten through theatre and film arts. We pursue excellence in storytelling and are thrilled to work with local artists and businesses.
